SVSU Cardinal Senior Spotlight - Alex Dice

SVSU Cardinal Senior Spotlight - Alex Dice

Saginaw Valley State University Athletics will be releasing a series of student-athlete spotlights, which will feature some of our Cardinal senior student-athletes from the 2019-20 academic year. Stay tuned to www.svsucardinals.com over the next few weeks to get to know our SVSU seniors a bit more.

Our first senior being featured to kick-off the series is Alex Dice. Alex is a native of Clarkston, Michigan and is a captain on the Cardinal Men's Golf team.

His favorite spot on campus is the Eastland Golf Center, which is the state of the art practice facility where the Cardinal Men's and Women's Golf teams practice during the colder months and adverse weather conditions.

Alex's favorite memory while competing for the Cardinals was when he holed-out from 150 yards out at the HawksHead Golf Links. His favorite road trip was when the team traveled to compete at the Northern Michigan Invitational, as seeing Michigan's Upper Peninsula for the first time was a great experience for him.

Dice is set to graduate in May, 2020 with a bachelor's degree in communication. He plans on working in the golf industry after graduation.

SVSU Men's Golf Head Coach Joe Vogl on Alex Dice...

"The Diceman. Alex is the hardest working young man we've had in the program. If I ever needed to find him, depending on the weather, all I had to do was go to the golf course or to the Eastland Golf Center. He is a great example as a team co-captain, of which he did a terrific job. Alex was an Academic All-American last year, and should be again this year except with the cancellation of our spring season, I'm not sure if those awards will happen."
