Cardinal Athlete of the Week

Maya Campbell - Women's Tennis

SVSU Tennis team member, Maya Campbell, posted a 3-1 overall record at the GLIAC tournament, including clinching the one point needed for the 4-3 win over Ashland. 

She won her doubles match on Saturday with a score of 6-3 with partner Joanne Gao and again on Sunday against Ashland with a 6-1 finish in the No. 2 slot. 

Against Ashland, Campbell came in the clutch for the Cardinals, sealing a victory at the #3 singles spot in the team's fourth three-set match of the morning after taking the the first set 6-0 and the last set 6-4.  

The Cardinals finish their fall season after the annual postseason league tournament with a 5-7 overall record. SVSU continues play on Saturday, Feb. 9 against the Walsh Cavaliers in a 2:00 p.m. match. Click here for the full SVSU Women's Tennis schedule and all updates.
