Men’s Cross Country Finishes 17th at NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's cross country team finished 17th as a team in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon in Sacramento, California. The Cardinals compiled a total of 528 points to finish nine spots higher than last season and match the mark the team reached in 2022.

Nicholas McArdle was the top finisher for SVSU as he crossed the finish line in 30 minutes and 55.9 seconds to place 62nd in the individual standings. The time was a personal best finish for McArdle at the 10K distance. Jacob Walker also set a PR with his time of 31:03.3 for 73rd.

Corey Bowers crossed the finish line at 31:14.4 for 137th. Jack Lobodzinski finished 141st with a time of 31:43.8. Nicholas Bozarth was the final Cardinal to score for the team standings with a time of 32:29.9.

Noah Verlinde and Tyler Bays were the final two racers for SVSU. Verlinde clocked a PR-time of 32:41.9, while Bays recorded a 34:50.5.
