Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third; Women Fifth at NCAA DII Midwest Regional

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional held at the Angel Mounds Cross Country Course in Evansville, Indiana. The men's team finished third with a final score of 112 while the women's team placed fifth with a score of 168.

Thomas Hufton led the way for the Cardinals with a fourth-place finish in the individual standings after clocking a time of 31 minutes, 5.4 seconds. Dominic Suliman crossed the line at 31:17.7 to finish the race in 16th. Jack Lobodzinski finished 29th after a time of 31:42.5, just in front of Carson Hersch who was 30th with a time of 31:44. Nick Bozarth finished in 31:49.7 to place 33rd individually. Matt Crowley (50th, 32:13.7) and Corey Bowers (66th, 32:35) rounded out the timings on the men's side.

Alexa Keiser was the top finisher for the women with a time of 20:57.6 to place 14th. Lynsey Amthor was 26th after a mark of 21:24.5. Karissa Picard finished in 21:35.5 to place 34th. Lauren Buckner was 44th with a time of 21:42.2 while Maddie Isola was 50th after a finish of 21:46.5. Alexis Tracy was 80th with a time of 22:20.6 and Jenna Picard finished off the women's finishes with 22:50.3 after a placing of 108th.

The Cardinals will now await the official announcements of National Championship qualifiers by the NCAA to see whether or not the season continues.
