Women Finish 10th and Men 7th at Lewis Crossover

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Lewis Crossover races on Saturday afternoon. The women's team completed the race in 10th on the team standings with a score of 330. The men's team was 7th with a final tally of 271.

Alexa Keiser led the Cardinal women as she finished 34th in the individual table after a time of 22 minutes and five seconds. Lauren Buckner placed 42nd with a time of 22:16. Lynsey Amthor placed 70th with a time of 22:41 while Maddie Isola was 95th with a finish of 23:00. Alexis Tracy marked a time of 23:06 and Karissa Picard finished in 23:21. Jenna Picard rounded out the scoring for SVSU with a time of 23:28. Grace Harkenrider also raced for the Cardinals and timed in at 23:38.

Thomas Hufton led the men with a 19th-place finish after crossing the finish in 24:33. Dominic Suliman was 21st with a time of 24:36. Matt Crowley placed 73rd after a time of 25:12. Nick Bozarth finished in 25:16 and Corey Bowers clocked in a 25:17 for finishes of 79th and 83rd. Dakota Dykhuis was 91st with a time of 25:19 and Carson Hersch finished off the scoring with a 25:23 finish. Five other SVSU men ran the race. Jack Lobodzinski (25:26), Noah Verlinde (25:37), Adam Thomas (25:42), Jacob Walker (26:01), and Justin Roose (26:16).

The Cardinal cross country teams return to action next Saturday, October 14 at the Jayhawk Invitational at Muskegon Community College.
