Cross Country Competes at Bowling Green Brodt Collegiate Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed in the Mel Brodt Collegiate Invitational at Bowling Green State University on Friday evening. The men's team finished second out of eight teams with a final score of 46 while the women placed eighth out of 10 teams with a final tally of 169 points.

Dominic Suliman was the top finisher for the Cardinals with a 25-minute, 9.1-second finish to place fifth in the individual. Suliman was the highest non-NCAA Division I finisher in the race. Thomas Hufton crossed the finish line behind Suliman with a time of 25:11.1. Corey Bowers and Jack Lobodzinski placed ninth and tenth respectively. Bowers had a time of 25:27.7 and Lobodzinski finished in 25:30.3. Carson Hersch was 19th with a time of 25:52.8.

Alexa Keiser led the women's team with a 14th-place finish after a time of 21:42.0. Lynsey Amthor registered a time of 22:40.6 for 35th in the race order. Alexis Tracy and Maddie Isola finished together at 44 and 45, with Tracy clocking in a 22:49.4 while Isola was at 22:53.7. Karissa Picard finished 50th at 22:57.2.

The SVSU cross country team will take a week off before hosting the annual Cardinal Classic event on Saturday, September 30.
