UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams hosted The Races Invite on Friday at the SVSU Cross Country Course.
The Cardinals competed against Madonna University in the event. Dayton Brown won the men's 6k for the Cardinals with a time of 19:10.5. He was followed to the line by Thomas Hufton in second place and Dominic Suliman in third. Jack Lobodzinski and Noah Verlinde were fourth and fifth, respectively.
On the women's side, Alexa Keiser won the 5k with a time of 19:03.1, followed by Lauren Buckner in second, and Kailee Sandoval in third. Karissa Picard was fourth and Sophia Potter was fifth.
The Cardinals' season continues with the Auto Owners Invitational hosted by Michigan State University on Sept. 16 in East Lansing, Mich.
