Cardinal women, Stimpfel qualify for NCAA Championships

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team qualified for the NCAA DII National Championship meet, it was announced on Monday afternoon. CarLee Stimpfel was an individual qualifier for the men's team following his victory in the 10K race at the NCAA Midwest Regional. 

This is the second straight season the Cardinal women have qualified for nationals after finishing 19th as a team in 2019. SVSU finished fourth at the regional meet with a team score of 175. Arianna Wegienka led the Cardinals with a time of 21:29.3 in the 6K race. As for Stimpfel, the senior from Cass City, Mich., will be racing for his third All-American honor. 

The Cardinals will race at the NCAA DII National meet on Saturday, Nov. 20 at The Abbey in Saint Leo, Fla.
