Men's Cross Country Finish 6th in NCAA Regionals, Women Finish 9th

CEDARVILLE, Mich. — The Men and Women Cross Country teams competed in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Championships held in Cedarville, Ohio. The Lady Cards dropped in a ninth place finish, while the men grabbed a sixth place finish out of 28 schools in attendance. 

Women's 6k Race 
Team Finish: 9th out of 28

The Lady Cards competed well at the NCAA Midwest Regionals, posting three runners in the top 50 and earning a ninth place finish. Last season, the women's team ranked 13th overall in the Midwest Regional meet.

Freshman runner Maggie Pawelczyk posted the top finish for SVSU at 27 with a time of 22:26.1. Morgan Fuerst followed closely behind with a 31st finish and a time of 22:33.9.

Sydney Kreger grabbed a time of 23:02.0 with a 50th place finish. Senior Alicia Tomlin and junior Darby Meinecke rounded out the teams top five with a 82nd and 83rd finishes respectively.

The men's cross country team grabbed a sixth place finish after placing two Cardinals in the Top 25. All five of the SVSU counting finishes were in the top 50 overall individual finishes. 

Timmy Kimball placed 19th, the top spot for the Cards, running a 31:56.5. Following Kimball was junior runner Parker Eisengruber running a 32:01.4.

Next up for the Cards was Clyde Anderson who grabbed a 26th place finish with a 32:25.0 time. Rounding out the top five was Austen Mandernach at 35th and Branden Bohling earning a 42nd finish overall.
