Cross Country Teams Set to Compete at GLIAC Championships

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Cross Country Championships.  This year's championship event is being hosted at Seneca Hills Golf Course by Tiffin University on Saturday (11/8).

Things will kick-off with the women's 6K race at 11:00 am, being followed by the men's 8K race at 11:45 am.

The SVSU women posted a runner-up finish at the 2013 championships, eventually finishing in 11th place at the Division II National Championships.  The men placed seventh in last year's event and would go on to finish 19th in the Midwest Region.

The Lady Cardinals have been led by Emily Short, who has three first-place finishes in five events this year.  SVSU's men have been paced by Joey Southgate, who has a pair of top-10 finishes in his three events.
