Emily Short Impresses Again at EMU Fall Classic

DEXTER - The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team competed in the Eastern Michigan University Fall Classic meet Friday (10/24) at the Hudson Mills Metropark. 

Continuing her impressive season for Saginaw Valley was senior Emily Short, who took third place with a time of 17:48.  Behind her was fellow senior Chantelle Fondren who clocked in at 18:50, good for a 28th place finish.  The next Cardinal to cross the finish line would be Christina Micale, placing 32nd at the 18:56 mark along with Tori Peet right behind in 33rd in a time of 18:57.

Taylor Stepanski finished the race in 19:04 for 40th place.  Junior Amanda Lacertosa competed well for the Cardinals, taking 51st with a time of 19:21.  Next for Saginaw Valley were freshmen Alicia Tomlin and Allison Dorr, who took 57th in 19:31 and 60th in 19:42, respectively.

Saginaw Valley will return to action November 8th to compete in the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Wayne State in Detroit.
