BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University senior women's cross country student-athlete Emily Short was selected as the Week #5 GLIAC Women's Cross Country "Athlete of the Week" for her performance at the Northwood University Invitational on Saturday (10/4).

Short ran to a first-place finish in the 5K race, leading the Lady Cardinals to a top showing as a team.  She posted a time of 17:52.18 to help the squad to a victory by 20 points over runner-up Ferris State.  All five of SVSU's runners who scored finished in eighth place or better in the race.

Saginaw Valley continues competition at the Lucian Rosa Invitational, set to be hosted in Kenosha, Wisconsin by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, October 11th.
