Women's XC Set To Run At Midwest Regionals

SOMERS, Wis. - The #13 nationally-ranked Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team is set to participate in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship on Saturday (Nov. 9) at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Somers, Wis.

The Cardinals are coming off a runner-up finish at the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships, which were held on Oct. 26 in Houghton, Mich.  SVSU looks to improve upon its 2nd place finish it posted at the 2012 Regional Championships.

The women's race is a 6k at the regional event and will be ran at 10:30 am.  

The top four teams along with the top five individuals not affiliated with the qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships to be held on Nov. 23 at the Plants Ferry Athletic Complex in Spokane, Wash.  Saginaw Valley finished 12th at last year's National Championships and 13th in 2011.
