Women's Cross Country Team Set to Compete in GLIAC Championships

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team is set to compete in the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Saturday (Oct. 26) in Houghton, Mich.

The conference championship races will take place on the trails that run throughout Michigan Tech University. 

The women's 6k race will begin the event at 11:00 am.  The women's open 6k will be run at 1:30 pm.

Last year, the Saginaw Valley women's team finished in 5th place out of the 16 GLIAC schools that participated. The team was led by Emily Short, who earned a 9th place finish overall with a time of 21:28.8. 

This will be the first race the Cardinals have competed in since recording back-to-back 1st place finishes in the Lansing Community College Invitational (Oct. 4) and the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships at Hillsdale College (Oct. 11).
