Bay City, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 2011 Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic Teams. Saginaw Valley was represented by 13 male and female runners on the achievement list. Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. 

All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-3.49. 

Senior Alycia Wright (Macomb Township, Mich./Lutheran High North) was named to the 2011-12 GLIAC All-Academic Team for women's cross country, while the SVSU men were represented by senior Jonathan Wetters (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) and freshman Brandon Bishop (Burt, Mich./Chesaning HS) on the recognition list.

The Cardinals were represented by seven women and three men on the 2011-12 GLIAC Academic Excellence Team. The honorees for women's cross country include Lauren Hill (Flat Rock, Mich./Flat Rock HS), Ashley Meyer (Shepherd, Mich./Shepherd HS), Megan Pittoors (Macomb, Mich./Dakota HS), Stephanie McMall (Bay City, Mich./Bay City Western HS), Chelsea Savage (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central), Amanda Paris (Hemlock, Mich./Hemlock HS) and Dana Stolicker (Deckerville, Mich./Deckerville HS). The men's cross country honorees include senior Greg Baade (Warren, Mich./De La Salle Collegiate), sophomore Kyle Henderson (Freeland, Mich./Freeland HS) and freshman Tony Peel (Swartz Creek, Mich./Swartz Creek HS).

Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50-4.0.
