UNIV. CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley
State University women’s cross country team hosted, and
competed in, the Cardinal Invitational today (Sept. 25).
The Lady Cardinals placed fourth overall with their top five
finishing in the top 30. Senior Amber Catlin (Alma, Mich. / Alma
HS) led the Cardinals placing seventh, crossing the line with a
time of 22:59. Finishing behind her were sophomores Jean Hollerbach
(23:30) (Grosse Point, Mich. / Grosse Point HS) and Ashley Meyer
(23:47) (Shepherd, Mich. / Shepherd HS), who placed 16th and 20th,
respectively. Completing the Cardinals top five were senior Amanda
Roache (Mt. Morris, Mich. / Mt. Morris HS), who crossed the line at
24:00, and sophomore Megan Miller (Monroe, Mich. / Monroe HS), who
ended the race with a final time of 24:29.
Saginaw Valley competes again next weekend on Saturday (Oct. 3) in
the Loyola Invitational held in Chicago, Illinois.
