BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University junior volleyball student-athlete Kaylee Schmitt was selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week.

Schmitt helped the Cardinals to sweep all three games played in the Cardinal Gym this past week. Schmitt posted a .423 hitting percentage, racking up 38 kills for an average of 3.80 kills/set in victories over Wayne State, Walsh and Malone. She added seven blocks defensively, averaging 0.70 blocks/set to earn her second GLIAC North Player of the Week honor this season. SVSU is off to a program-best 13-2 record through 15 matches.

The Cardinals are on the road this weekend, traveling to Findlay University on Friday for a 7pm match, and then to Hillsdale College on Saturday for a match at noon.
