Cardinals Wrap-up Competition at National Championships

ALLENDALE - Saginaw Valley State University track & field student-athletes Taylor Stepanski and Andrew Mudd both competed in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, held at the GVSU Outdoor Track and Field Complex in Allendale, Michigan.

Stepanski, competing in the 800 Meter Run Prelims, secured a spot in Saturday's finals with a sixth-place time of 2:08.91.  The finals, featuring the top nine times from the prelims, was ran on Saturday but she did not finish in that race due to a fall during competition.

Mudd finished up his work in the Decathlon with a ninth place showing of 6,922 points, narrowly missing out on All-American honors.  His top finishes in the event were in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 49.26 seconds (849 points) and in the 1,500 Meter Run with a mark of 4:36.39 (703 points), placing third in each.   

The Championships complete the 2014-15 season for the Cardinals.
