ALLENDALE - The Saginaw Valley State University men's women's track & field teams competed at the GVSU Tune-up meet on Friday (Feb. 20) in the team's final event before next weekend's GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Brittany Johnson had a great 800 meter run for the Lady Cardinals, crossing the line with a time of 2:13.62 to mark an NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying time.
Anna Fochesato placed second in the high jump, clearing the bar with a height of 1.64 meters.
D'Omar Boyden qualified for the 60 meter hurdles finals, where he would notch a provisional time of 8.13 seconds while finishing in third place.
Robert Tarpley finished runner-up in the triple jump, posting a distance of 13.86 meters.
David Jensen placed fourth in the 5,000 meter run, posting a time of 15:39.89 in the event.
Both the women's and men's team will be in action this upcoming weekend in the 2015 GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The meet begins Saturday (Feb. 28) and runs through Sunday (Mar. 1) afternoon. The championships are being hosted by the Cardinals at the SVSU Fieldhouse.
