UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University women's track & field team hosted the 2015 Doug Hansen Open on Friday (Jan. 23) afternoon in the SVSU Fieldhouse.

Anna Fochesato claimed the high jump event, clearing the bar with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 1.69m.  Fochesato was one of two athletes to break her own fieldhouse record in the triple jump, as she finished second with a distance of 11.49m, finishing behind only a D-I opponent.

Tierra Williams finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles finals, finishing with a time of 9.13 seconds.

The 4X400 meter relay team of Devyn Powell, Kimberly Balls, Domonique Smith, and Mairi Van Dyke took fifth, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:01.08.

Balls (26.43) and Powell (26.61) took 15th and 18th place in the 200 meter dash.

The women are in action again next weekend as SVSU hosts the Jet's Pizza Invitational on Friday (Jan. 30) and Saturday (Jan. 31) in the SVSU Fieldhouse.
