Track & Field Teams Kick-off Outdoor Season

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University track & field teams competed at the annual SVSU-GVSU Dual Meet on Saturday (Mar. 30).  The meet was ran indoors at GVSU's Kelly Sports Center due to harsh weather conditions.

Tierra Williams claimed the top spot in the women's  55 meter hurdles, posting a time of 8.45 seconds.  In the high jump, Anna Fochesato jumped to a height of 5'6", provisionally qualifying her for the national meet while finishing in first place.  

Emerald Joiner finished first in the shot put, posting a distance of 42'7".  

DaJuawn Wallace and Andrew Middleton had runner-up finishes in the 800 and 1,500 meter runs, respectively.  Wallace crossed the line with a time of 1:59.06 while Middleton ran a 4:02.88.

In the 55 meter hurdles, D'Omar Boyden had a second place finish with a time of 7.61 seconds.  Eric Thornton claimed a first place finish in the high jump, leaping to a height of 6'4.75".
