UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's track & field competed in the Cardinal-hosted Holiday Classic, held in SVSU's O'Neill Arena.
Junior Emerald Joiner started the meet off strong for SVSU, posting an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 13.63 meters in the shot put. Joiner added her second provisional mark of the night in the weight throw after a second place finish with a throw of 16.27 meters.
Sophomore Anna Fochesato notched a provisional qualifying mark as well, placing first in the high jump with a height of 1.66 meters.
Senior Diamond Taylor added a runner-up finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.90.
The women's 4x400 meter team of Taylor, senior Shavonne Roberson and sophomores Ola Hendler and Paige Stepanski finished second with a time of 4:08.03 for the Cards.
The women are off until after the new year, when they host the 'Doug Hansen' Open on January 17th at 3:00 pm.
