Wright Qualifies for the Finals of the 1,500 and 800-meter at Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's track and field team was given the opportunity to send an athlete to the 2012 NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships.  Senior Alycia Wright (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North HS) was the lone member of the SVSU women's track and field team that was able to compete this week at the NCAA DII Championships.  

Wright automatically qualified to compete in the 800 and 1,500-meter runs.  She was able to qualify for the finals of the 1,500-meter run Thursday (May 24) clocking in at 4:38.36.  With this time Wright sits ninth overall going into the finals which will be ran on Saturday (May 26) at 5:35pm MDT.  On Friday (May 25) she qualified for the finals of the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.52, good for seventh overall in the prelims.  She will run in the finals of the 800-meter run at 7:00 MDT on Saturday as well.
