NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's track and field team has been given the privilege of sending one athlete to the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship meet, held on May 24-26 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Senior middle distance runner Alycia Wright (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North HS) was the only Cardinal athlete to qualify for the National Championships.  Wright automatically qualified for the National Championships in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter run.  She enters the meet seeded sixth and seventh in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter run with times of 2:09.91 and 4:26.27, respectively.  The prelims for the 1,500-meter run will take place Thursday (5/24) at 5:10pm MT and the prelims for the 800-meter run will take place on Friday (5/25) at 6pm MT.  The finals of both events will be ran on Saturday (5/26) at 5:35pm MT and 6:55pm MT.
