UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the matchups for the 2024 Women's Tennis Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team earned the fourth seed and will face fifth-seeded Lake Superior State in the first round of the bracket on Friday, April 26 at 11:00 AM EST.

The Cardinals (7-10, 3-4 GLIAC) faced the Lakers (5-10, 3-4 GLIAC) on the road in March and escaped with a 4-3 victory.

SVSU earned the first point in doubles, with victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matchups. Adriana Barrio Garcia De Leaniz and Tara Erler were 2-0 during the match with wins as the No. 1 doubles pair and No. 1 and 2 singles. Lydia Liong won No. 3 doubles with Johanna Michahelles before earning the winning point in the No. 6 singles match.

The winner between SVSU and LSSU will meet top-seeded Wayne State in the second round on Saturday, April 27.
