CALEDONIA, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team continued the fall portion of the 2021-22 schedule with a road match at Hillsdale College on Sunday in Hillsdale, Mich.
The Cardinals fell to the Chargers 6-1 to fall to 2-3 on the season.
The lone win for the Cardinals came at No. 5 singles where Adiya Young rallied from a first-set loss to top her opponent in three sets, 2-6, 7—5, 10-5. Irene Latorre Barreiro dropped a close match at No. 6 singles, falling 7-5, 5-7, 10-3.
The Cardinals return home this weekend for a pair of matches starting against Walsh University at 11 am Friday at the SVSU Tennis Complex.
