Miller and Gao earn All-GLIAC Honors

GLIAC The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Friday evening their Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards for the 2018 season. Junior Maddie Miller earned second team honors while Joanne Gao finished with an honorable mention accolade. 

Miller heads into the GLIAC tournament with a 3-6 singles and doubles record in the No. 1 spot for the Cardinals. This is Miller's second time being on the All-GLIAC second team after earning the accolade during her sophomore season. 

Gao earned back-to-back All-GLIAC honorable mentions with the honor this year after an exceptional sophomore season for SVSU. Gao finished the fall regular season with a 2-7 singles play in the No. 2 spot and a 4-5 record in doubles with her partner, Maya Campbell

The Cardinals open 2018 GLIAC Tournament play on Friday (Oct. 26) evening against No. 2 and co-regular season GLIAC Champions, Northwood, at 6:45 p.m. at the Greater Midland Tennis Center. Saginaw Valley posted a 4-5 overall record in the GLIAC for the fall season, securing the No. 7 overall seed in this year's tournament.
