Cardinals fall in spring opener at Mercyhurst, 7-2

ERIE, Pa. -- The SVSU Women's Tennis team fell on the road in Erie, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, dropping a 7-2 contest to the Mercyhurst Lakers in non-conference action. The Cardinals got victories at the No. 1 Doubles and No. 4 singles positions for their wins. 

Doubles

Saginaw Valley got an 8-2 victory at the No. 1 slot, as Shea Donahue and Maddie Miller defeated their opponents. Danielle Slonac and Joanne Gao fell by a very narrow score of 8-6 at No. 2 Doubles. 

Singles

The lone victory for the Cardinals came at the No. 4 slot, when Slonac was dominant in her match by a 6-2, 6-3 count. Miller lost in a close matchup at the No. 2 slot as well, falling by a 6-2, 6-7, 6-10 margin.
