Divers Compete Against Cleveland State and Niagara

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University women's divers competed over the weekend against Cleveland State University and Niagara University, two Division I opponents, in an event hosted by Cleveland State.  As the lady swimmers claimed three victories in a separate event, the divers posted some great marks as well.

In the competition, all three SVSU divers had their best scoring performances of the young season.

In the One Meter Diving against Cleveland State, Wilhelmina Francisco took second with a score of 224.25 to lead the Cardinals.  Kathleen Murphy (209.45) and Erica Wysocki (197.10) followed in third and fourth, respectively.

In the same event against Niagara, Murphy took second with the mark and Wysocki's score was good enough for third.

Against Niagara in the Three Meter Dive, Murphy placed first with a 210.05 score, just ahead of Wysocki with a 204.15 count.  Francisco placed fourth with a score of 193.05.

Those three scores placed SVSU second through fourth against CSU.

The Divers will join the Cardinal swimmers for the team's home meet Saturday (11/1), as SVSU hosts Alma College and Calvin College in an event that begins at 1:00 pm at the Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center.
