UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University women's swimming & diving team has selected its captains for the inaugural 2014-15 season.

The team voted Kendall Stevens and Breanne Bell to be this year's captains.  Stevens is from local Bay City Western High School and will compete in the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly for the Cardinals this season.  Bell is another local talent as well, coming to SVSU from Bangor John Glenn High School.  Bell will compete in the freestyle and breaststroke for Saginaw Valley.

The Lady Cardinals will officially get their first season of competition underway on Friday, October 10th when they host a meet against GLIAC opponents Tiffin University and Malone University.  The event is set to begin at 2:00 pm at the Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center on the campus of SVSU.
