UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State University Women's Swimming & Diving Team is beginning its inaugural season this fall. If you have competitive swimming experience at the high school, club or YMCA level and are interested in the possibility of being a part of Saginaw Valley State University Athletics history and becoming a member of the first ever women's swimming & diving team, Head Swimming & Diving Coach Bruce Zimmerman would like to invite you to participate in an open tryout scheduled for either Tuesday, September 9, 2014 or Wednesday, September 10, 2014. 

During the tryout, you will participate in one of the regularly scheduled team practices. The primary focus of the tryout will be to evaluate your technical skills which will include an evaluation of all four competitive strokes, turns, and starts. Your current conditioning level will be taken into consideration in the evaluation but it will not be a major factor in determining whether you will ultimately be offered a spot on the team. 

Per NCAA and SVSU policy, all participants must be cleared by the SVSU Athletic Training Department before being allowed to participate in the tryout. Three forms must be completed and turned into Coach Zimmerman prior to your scheduled tryout. The forms can be accessed by going to www.svsucardinals.com/tomforms. Please print out the forms, provide all information requested, and turn all completed forms in to Coach Zimmerman at least ONE DAY before your scheduled tryout.
