HAMMOND, Ind. – The successful road trip continues for Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer as they claim a 2-0 victory over Purdue Northwest. The team has now won three straight and hasn't allowed a goal in their last four matches. Sarah Fredrick led the team offensively with seven of their 17 shots and scored both of their goals, her second and third of the season.

It started early for the Cardinals as Fredrick put her first one by the keeper in the 9th minute of the match. Saginaw Valley dominated the offensive front tallying seven of their 17 shots in the first 45 minutes and allowed three shots, only one on goal, during the half. That lone shot on goal would be in for the Pride and the only save that Lainey Garbarz had to make on route to her fourth straight shutout.

The second half would only get better for the Cardinals. 10 shot attempts and seven of them found the target. In the 64th minute, Fredrick doubled the lead with her second goal earning a brace. SVSU held PNW to only two shot attempts in the final 45 minutes and neither of them tested Garbarz.

Stephanie Strong helped aid the offense with three shots, all of them on goal, along with Madi Bajis and Lauryn Fracassi who both had two shots, both of Bajis' and one of Fracassi's was on target.

Women's soccer wraps up the three-game road trip in Big Rapids as they take on the Ferris State Bulldogs. Kickoff set for 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 6.
