HAMMOND, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team shutout host team Purdue Northwest in a GLIAC matchup. SVSU improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in GLIAC play.
The Cardinals opened the first half scoring the first goal just under nine minutes in when Valentina Giambanco found the back of the net for a solo goal. Purdue was unable to fend off the attack of SVSU, as Allison Sims would find Madie Saleh to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead. This score would hold true through the remainder of the first half.
Saginaw Valley controlled the offensive side of play as they outshot Purdue Northwest in the first half, 10-4. The Cardinals also utilized their seven corner kicks, with one resulting in a goal.
The Cardinals entered the second half ready to play as Amy Babon would find the back of the net on a feed from Jennifer Muana at the 46' mark to extend the Cardinals lead to 3-0. This score remain for the remainder of the match and SVSU would win, 3-0.
