The Lady Cardinals Take On Walsh In NCAA Tournament On Friday

NCAA — The SVSU Women's Soccer team has entered into the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history and will face Walsh University Friday (Nov. 9) morning at 11 a.m. in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament hosted at No. 1 seed, Grand Valley State University.

The Cavaliers enter as the No. 4 slot in the midwest region for the first time in program history, with the Lady Cards following closely behind in the fifth seed. This is the first time in these two will meet in post season play, only meeting five times in regular season since the SVSU program began. In those meetings, SVSU has won three out of five, tying the other two contests in 2012 and 2014.

The winner of this contest will go on to face the winner of game one, No. 1 seed Grand Valley State or No. 8 seed Rockhurst University on Sunday (Nov. 11), beginning at 1 p.m.

This will be the second time since joining the staff in 2014 that head coach Michael O'Neill will appear in the NCAA Tournament for SVSU.

Live stats and video will be available for the weekends contest, as you can find the links when they become available on our Women's Soccer schedule page.
