Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season in Draw Against Ashland, 0-0

Ashland, Ohio — In a matchup between the number four and six team in the Midwest Region, the SVSU Women's Soccer team and Ashland Eagles came out with a draw, 0-0 after the completion of double overtime. 

Saginaw edged out a 9-nil shots ratio against the Ashland Eagles in the first half, but was unable to find the back of the net. 

The second half was led by Ashland 5-nil, but neither team would earn a goal. 

After the completion of two overtimes, SVSU and AU ended in a 0-0 draw. 

This would be Saginaw's third tie of the year, giving them a 13-3-3 record overall heading into the post season beginning on Tuesday.

  • SVSU edged out a 7-6 ratio in shots on goal, totalling 12 shots. 
  • Valentina Giambanco led the team with four shots, three of them on goal. 
  •  Molly Vanderhoff had four shots as well
  • Ashland edged out a 10-2 ratio in corners
