Big Rapids, Mich. — The SVSU Women's Soccer team headed over the Ferris State on Sunday afternoon, resulting in a draw in GLIAC action against the Bulldogs. The Cards head to 7-1-3, 3-0-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs head to 8-1-3 overall, 2-0-3 in the GLIAC.
The first half was led by the Bulldogs offense, posting nine shots but only one on goal which was stopped by SV goalie Alyssa Watts. The Cards and Bulldogs headed into the halftime break with no score on the board.
At the 63:24 mark, Lindsay Stroebel with the help of Olivia Cogo, earned the only SV goal of the contest, taking the lead 1-0. With just under two minutes to spare, a quick shot into the back of the net by FSU, knotted the contest up 1-1.
With two overtimes played, totalling four FSU shots and no SVSU shots, left the teams in a draw, 1-1.
Inside the Box Score:
- Watts had three saves in today's road match
- Stroebel led the team with three shots and the only goal of the contest.
- Zo Schultz, Molly Vanderhoff, Mallory Hestwood and Valentina Giambanco, each had one shot on goal
- Cogo had a solo assist
