UNIVERSITY CENTER — Sunday afternoon the SVSU Women's Soccer team took on Wisconsin Parkside at Braddock Field. The Cardinals second half push led the team to their 2-0 start in conference and a 6-1-1 overall record. The Rangers fall to 1-5-2 record with a 0-2 record in conferece.
Parkside got on the scoreboard first with a shot on an empty net going up 1-0 agains the Cardinals in the first five minutes of play.
SVSU's Amanda Minissale earned her fourth goal of the year assisted from Molly Vanderhoff from 15 yards away, knotting the contest, 1-1.
At the 22' mark of the contest, a free kick came off an Saginaw Valley defender finding its way into the back of the net for the Rangers to lead 2-1 over SVSU.
Vanderhoff knotted the contest up with a netter in the 29' mark to head into the halftime break, 2-2.
Offensively, the Cardinals stepped up in the second half, posting two goals to get the win over the Rangers.
Firstly, Lindsay Stroebel found a pass from teammate Valentina Giambanco infront of the net to earn her fourth goal of the season. Then, Giambanco posted the final goal of the afternoon from Amy Babon to secure the victory over the Parkside, 4-2.

- Goalkeeper Alyssa Watts (W, 6-1-1) earns the victory over the Rangers with three saves. Parkside's Lara Ferrari (L, 1-5-2) takes the loss after eight total saves.
- Giambanco had 10 total shots with five on goal and one finding the back of the net. She had an assist, as well.
- Vanderhoff earned seven shots, with four SOGs and one goal and one assist.
- Stroebel had one goal out of her two total shots.

The Cardinals will face off againt GLIAC member and cross town rival, Northwood University, on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. at the Dean Soccer Field in Midland, Mich. SVSU defeated NU earlier this month, 2-0.
