Tiffin, Ohio — The senior night for the Dragons brought trouble to the SVSU Women's Soccer team winning streak as Tiffin drops a late second half goal to take the victory 1-0 over the Cardinals. Now Saginaw Valley has dropped to sixth place in the GSC and Tiffin has jumped to number four.

The first half brought struggles to both offenses with Saginaw Valley posting a 10-4 advantage in shots over the Dragons. Although, with the impressive work inside the Tiffin box, the Cardinals were unable to post anything on target with their four shots on goal. SVSU lead in corner kicks as well, 6-0.

The Cardinals were still very aggressive in shots during the second half, posting another six with five on goal. Still, with all the effort, the Dragon keeper made all five saves. In the 82' minute of play, SV goalkeeper came out of the net to stop a shot from being made, but senior Dragon Svetlana Gudenkova's shot headed in and earned the game winning goal for Tiffin.

This loss settled the debate for the final seedings for the GLIAC tournament that will begin on Halloween night. Tiffin will now take the number four seed and host the first round of playoffs against the five seed Davenport. Saginaw Valley takes the six seed and will play at Ferris State beginning at 3 p.m. on Oct. 31.

 Inside the Box Score:

• Valentina Giambanco posted the team's high with three shots on goal.
Alexis Hilliard notched in two on target.
Alyssa Watts had two saves.
• The team posted 16-9 shots over the Dragons.
• Saginaw Valley earned nine corner kicks to Tiffin's two.
• Tiffin posted nine saves to SVSU's two.

From head coach Michael O'Neill

"We started slow today and did not take full advantage of what the game was offering. We were able to build momentum as the game went on but playing into the wind was always going to be tough in the second half. It was a tough way to lose so late on but that's the game and we really only have ourselves to blame for starting slowly in what were favorable conditions."
