ASHLAND, Ohio - The SVSU women's soccer team visited Ashland University to begin a weekend of GLIAC competition in the state of Ohio. The Lady Cardinals held the Eagles scoreless through the first half despite being outshot 9-4 at the break. Ashland would score at the 57th minute and hold back the Lady Cardinals offensive attack to secure a 1-0 win at Ferguson Field on Friday (Oct. 14).

The Eagles would break the scoreless tie in the 57th minute off of a free kick. Ashland forward Kelsey McKernan roped a shot 30 yards past goalkeeper Paola de Lanuza for her second goal of the season. Ashland grabbed the 1-0 lead.
