Lady Cards Fall At Northern Michigan In GLIAC Match

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University's women's soccer team fell to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Northern Michigan University by a score of 4-1 on the tail-end of its trip to the Upper Peninsula.

The Wildcats had a 2-0 lead after a pair of Nicole Musi goals and held that lead heading into halftime.

Northern added two more goals in the second period, scoring at the 47:00 and 60:07 marks.

The Cardinals scored their only goal of the match at the 83:02 mark, as Olivia Perrin notched her first goal of the season.

SVSU held the advantage in shots by a 12-8 mark and a had a 7-2 upper-hand in corner kicks.

After the defeat, SVSU falls to 4-7-1 overall and 2-6 in GLIAC play.  The Wildcats improve to 4-6-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference.

Saginaw Valley is in action again Friday, Oct. 18th when it travels to play Lake Erie College in another conference match.  The contest is set to begin at 7:00 pm in Painesville, Ohio.
