COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team defeated the Ohio Dominican Panthers today (Sept. 30), 1-0, in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest.
The Cardinals (4-1-4, 3-0-3 GLIAC) would score the games only goal on a beautiful header by Annie Aubrey (Jackson, Mich.) on a crossing pass from Kali Barry (Mason, Mich.) in the 36th minute.
That would be the only goal Saginaw Valley would need as the defense buckled down and held the Panthers (4-4-2, 1-3-2 GLIAC) to one shot on goal for the remainder of the contest.
The Cardinals will return to action at home when they host Michigan Tech on Friday (Oct. 5) at 2:00 PM at the SVSU Soccer Complex.
