Cardinals Tie Eagles, 0-0 in Double Overtime

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team tied Ashland University, 0-0 today (Oct. 16) in double overtime.

Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard through the first 90 minutes of regulation time sending the game into two overtimes. Freshman goaltender Laura Ivezaj (Rochester, Mich.) saved all nine shots that the Eagles placed on goal, while freshman Kelsey Burt (Marengo, Ohio/Highland HS) put two shots on goal for the Cardinals.

With the tie Saginaw Valley moves to 5-6-2 overall, and 4-6-2 in the GLIAC, while Ashland moves to 6-5-3 overall on the season, and 5-3-3 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 21) when they travel to Northern Michigan. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
