Saginaw Valley Falls to Ferris State, 1-0 in Overtime

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team fell to Ferris State 1-0 today (Oct. 7) in overtime.

The Cardinals put 13 shots on goal in the first 90 minutes of regulation time but were unable to find the back of the net sending the game into overtime. Ferris State ended the contest ten minutes into overtime when Riley Wood scored on a header.

Sophomore Andrea Grove (Farmington, Mich.) placed five shots on goal for Saginaw Valley, while senior Amanda Kady (Macomb, Mich. / Eisenhower HS) had two shots on goal. Freshman Laura Ivezaj (Rochester Hills, Mich.) was handed her fourth loss of the season saving two shots on goal.

With the loss the Cardinals fall to 4-5-1 overall on the season, and 3-5-1 in the GLIAC, while the Bulldogs improve to 5-5-2 overall on the season, and 5-2-2 in the GLIAC. Saginaw Valley will be back in action on Sunday (Oct. 9) when they take on #5 Grand Valley. Game time is scheduled for noon.
