Cardinals Defeat Rangers, 1-0

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team opened up their 2010 season with a win over Wisconsin-Parkside today (Sept. 2).

The Cardinals scored early into the contest to give them the 1-0 advantage.  Sophomore Megan Morad (South Lyon, Mich.) found the back of the net 17:54 into the game. 

Junior Anne Berschbach (Algonac, Mich.) recorded her first shut-out of the season, while the Cardinal defense kept the Rangers to only six shots on goal.

With the win Saginaw Valley moves to 1-0 overall on the season, while Wisconsin-Parkside falls to 0-1 on the season.  The Cardinals will return home for their 2010 home opener on Sunday (Sept. 5) when they face Quincy University.  The contest is scheduled to start at noon.
