INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State
University women’s soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of
Indianapolis today (Aug. 28) in their 2009 season opener.
The game’s lone goal came in the fifteenth minute when
UINDY’s Amanda Reese slipped the ball by Missy Frederick
(Canton, Mich./Canton HS) who started in goal for the Cardinals,
Frederick ended the night with two saves. The Cardinal attacked
hard in the second frame, letting loose eight shots, but were
unable to slip anything through the Greyhound defense.
With the loss the Cardinals fall to 0-1 on the season, while
Indianapolis moves to 1-0 on the season. The Cardinals will travel
to Lewis on Sunday for a noon game.
