Women’s Golf Takes Fourth at FIndianapolis Intercollegiate

LACONIA, Ind. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's golf program took fourth out of seven teams at the FIndianapolis Intercollegiate hosted by Findlay and UIndy. The team played three rounds of golf with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The Cardinals shot +96 with rounds of 322, 313, and 326 for a total of 960.

Megan Thiravong led Saginaw Valley with rounds of 78, 74, and 80 for a total of 232 which tied her for 12th out of 42 golfers. Brook Herbstreit was close behind with a total of 236 and placed 16th. She shot rounds of 82 and 77 on Monday and followed it with a round of 77 on Tuesday. Sydney Wesson and Mandy Ehrlich tied with scores of 248. Wesson shot 86, 78, and 83 while Ehrlich shot 80, 82, and 86. Megan Kozlowski rounded out the team with rounds of 82, 82, and 86 for a total of 250. Andie Martin golfed individually and shot 80, 83, and 92 for a total of 255.

The team was fourth best on par threes, third on par fours, and sixth on par fives. Herbstreit tied eighth for most pars with 32 in total as the team sot 134 of them for fourth best. Thiravong led the team in birdies with six with Wesson one behind.

Women's golf competes at the NC4K Classis hosted by Ohio Dominican next week on Monday and Tuesday for their final tournament before the GLIAC Championships. The tournament will be held at Pinnacle Country Club in Grove City, Ohio.
