Cards finish 7th at Walsh Cavalier Classic

CANTON, Ohio -- The Cardinal Women's Golf team finished in 7th place at the 2019 Walsh Cavalier Classic, which was played at the Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio. The teams played 36 holes on Saturday due to poor weather forecasted for Sunday. 

Saginaw Valley shot scores of 340-325, finishing eight strokes behind Mercyhurst University. Findlay won the event with a final score of 605, defeating GVSU by four strokes. 

Emiily Barker was the top finisher for the Cardinals, as she shot scores of 84-78 to tie for 21st place overall. Keegan Miller tied for 27th after posting rounds of 83-82 for SVSU.

Alexa Marston carded scores of 84-83 to finish 33rd overall while Annika Neumann was tied for 43rd after shooting 89-82. 

Jenna Pepper competed as well, shooting scores of 93-87 for the Cardinals.

The team will compete in the 2019 GLIAC Championships this upcoming weekend, which will be played at the Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort in Augusta, Michigan.
