PATASKALA, Ohio -- The Cardinal Women's Golf team competed in the Ohio Dominican Snowflake Open on Monday (Mar. 26) in a single day, 36-hole event. The Lady Cardinals were impressive, posting rounds of 317-309 to claim the program's first ever tournament championship. The 626 total is a new program low and the 309 second round score is a new 18-hole low. 

SVSU won the event by 13 strokes, finishing ahead of runner-up Northern Michigan University. Shelbe Cahill won the individual medalist honors for the Cards, putting together rounds of 77-72, 149 (+5) to finish two strokes clear of teammate Sabrina Coffman for her first title. Coffman led after the first 18 holes of play and had scores of 74-77, 151 (+7).

Alexa Marston registered a top-10 finish for the squad as well, tying for sixth place with scores of 80-79, 159 (+15). Katie Boyd finished in 20th place with marks of 86-81 while Emily Barker shot rounds of 91-82 for Saginaw Valley.

The Cardinals return to action Mar. 9-10 for the Ohio Dominican Invitational. The event is set to be played at the Jefferson Golf & Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.
