Lady Cardinals Finish 6th at SVSU Fall Invitational

BAY CITY -- The SVSU Women's Golf team posted its second straight program low team score, finishing with a final round 313 on Sunday (Sep. 24) in the SVSU Fall Invitational. The event was hosted by the Cardinals at the Saginaw Valley Public Golf Course. 

The Cards put together rounds of 318-313, finishing in sixth place. Wayne State won the event, posting a score of 607. 

Saginaw Valley was paced by Sabrina Coffman, who shot her second score of 73 (+1) in as many weeks, matching her own program record. She finished in a tie for 10th place overall with her two day total of 153 (+9). 

Lucy Cornwell topped her first round score of 79 with a 76 on Sunday, finishing with a total of 155 (+11) to tie for 14th in the event.

SV had its other three players card an 82 in the second round, as Alexa Marston, Shelbe Cahill and Emily Barker all shot that score. Marston tied for 26th after her scores of 79-82, Cahill (80-82) tied for 28th and Barker (83-82) was tied for 36th overall. 

Annika Neumann (85), Katie Boyd (87) and Katie Morrissey (86) competed as individuals for the Cardinals on day two.  

Up Next...

The Lady Cardinals compete next at the GVSU Invitational, set to be hosted at The Meadows Golf Course. First round action begins Saturday (Sep. 30) in Allendale.
