Lady Cardinals set for first-ever GLIAC Championships

NASHPORT, Ohio -- The Saginaw Valley State University Women's Golf team heads to Ohio to participate in the 2017 GLIAC Championships this weekend. It marks the first league championship event for the first year program. The event will be hosted at the same venue with the men's championships, with the women playing a Par 72, 5,926 yard layout at The Virtues Golf Club. 

Saginaw Valley has posted five top-10 finishes during the season, having posted three 18-hole program records recently in the same event at the NCAA Regionals in Perry Park, Ky. For the season, the Cardinals have posted 11 rounds in the 70's and look to carry that into this weekend's play in Ohio. 

Saginaw Valley will begin play on Friday at 8:00 a.m. off of hole 10, playing with Tiffin and Wayne State.
